The environment is a precious resource. One that has become, for many, a commodity that is worth as much as the price we are willing to pay for it.

Development often comes at the expense of the environment, in turn, the environment impacts the way in which we do development. This is a vicious cycle that can be transformed into a virtuous one.

The term 'sustainable development' accords a myriad of contested definitions and interpretations, begging the question of what is truly sustained and who has the power to decide. I strive to help others around me respect the environment on which we rely so heavily. This often one-way relationship (where development trumps the welfare of the natural landscape) is a driving force that continuously pushes me to learn more about the inter-dependencies that exist within private/public sectors, natural and built environments, communities, and individuals. Educated in an interdisciplinary approach, I consult on activities undertaken in the name of improving people’s lives, protecting scarce resources, and respecting cultural heritage in tandem.
